Report: Tycoon Rotenberg to develop field with Gazprom
MOSCOW, Nov 1 (PRIME) -- Tycoon Arkady Rotenberg plans to develop a natural gas deposit together with Gazprom in Russia’s Far East to ensure cheap supplies to a local fertilizer plant the businessman want to build, he said in an interview to Rossiya 24 television channel broadcast Tuesday.
“Speaking about gas production, we have never strived for it. Now we have a small project with Gazprom, but this is only because we want to build a large chemical facility in the Far East that will produce mineral fertilizers. Mineral fertilizers require a lot of gas. This is why we are thinking of entering one of the fields there together with Gazprom to make it all cheaper for us,” he said.
“It will not happen soon. We are now holding negotiations. But I think we will launch construction next year if everything goes well. The project will take up to about four to five years.”
